About Me

I'm new to the freelance writing life! Before all this, I mostly worked in education and the sciences - I have served aboard oceanographic research vessels, dissected mosquito ovaries in disease ecology labs, certified as an EMT, and volunteered as a volcano hiking guide.

But the root of my love for science and education has always been, at heart, a love for the world, and the people in it. It’s why I became a park ranger, and taught at space camps, and wore lab coats at traveling anatomy museums. Maybe I'm just a sucker for nerdy adventure.

Regardless, it's all led me to this middle-aged career change, which I have truly relished. Because I absolutely adore this world, learning everything I can about it - and then, sharing my discoveries with all you lovely people.
